Currently, I am putting together a portfolio book of my best photography in the last decade. I am making this book solely for personal satisfaction. However, I want it to be the best it can be and need some extra eyes to help me narrow down my selection. I will be posting batches of pictures in upcoming posts. This will be Batch #1.

So, here it goes. Look at each photo and rate it from 1-5 (5 being best). There will be an occasion where I want you to rate 2-3 photos as a set. Just look for my notes.

I took these bridals of my husband's youngest sister Katie. I absolutely loved taking pictures on the grounds of the Garden Park Ward Chapel in Salt Lake City.

I enjoyed taking bridals of my new sister-in-law. As soon as I started taking some full body gown shots, it started pouring rain! It didn't let up, so most all of the shots were taken under an overhang.
I'm still pleased with how it all turned out...

Fall Time

One fall day in 2006, I glimpsed through the window and watched my nephews and niece raking the backyard for my parents. I grabbed my dad's Canon Rebel and had a great time taking these shots of them enjoying this crisp fall day.

I am an outdoor amateur photographer and have loved this backpack! It's roomy and is able to store everything I need, plus it's comfortable to carry on my back. I also got this backpack because it is has straps and a fold-out bottom pocket to hold my tripod. I am very satisfied with this backpack.

My Grandpa

This is my wonderful grandpa.
I love visiting him in Delta, UT and going fossil hunting with him. This picture was taken in 2002 on one of our excursions.
I think he looks so cute in his overalls and cowboy hat.

This is one of my favorite pictures of my grandpa. I love it because it captures one of his many daily tasks. He is a widower living alone in his home in Delta, UT. At the time of this picture he was 84 years old--today he is 93 and is active as ever, and still takes care of his garden and home. He's an amazing man and I loved following him around for a day taking pictures of him doing his daily chores.

Family Portraits

Back in 2001 I took a trip to visit my brother and his family in Bismark, North Dakota. I loaded my 35mm Pentax camera with black and white film and had a great time taking pictures of his children. These are some of my favorites.

I submitted this photo in Utah Valley Magazine and won grand prize! I won a night's stay in a honeymoon suite at a cute bed and breakfast place called "Inn on the Creek" in Midway. I invited my sister because I was not married at the time, and we had a fun girl's night out. I liked the place so much that when I got married 7 years later, I made sure to take my husband there!

This picture encapsulates what a tender, loving father he is.

My nephew idolized Superman at the time, and he loved wearing his Superman outfit around the house. I had to capture it on film!

Iwo Jima Monument in Moonlight

Back in 2006 my friend and I went to Washington D.C. to tour around. One evening we caught this beautiful view of Iwo Jima Monument! I took about a hundred pictures of it, and found this was the best position. Thank goodness I had my tripod, and put my ISO to 1600. Other than that it would've been much too dark!

I took some traditional family pictures of the Atkissons, but also enjoyed doing a few unique ones. I love these shots of them preparing to run down the hill together.

When the sun was about to set, I caught a candid moment of the father playing with his daughter.
It was perfect timing!

I wish this one was candid also, but...no, I posed them.
Still, I think it's cool.

Flying Over California

I'm not a plane guru, but I had a lot of fun taking pictures of the little prop plane that my friend's professor flew us in for a little jaunt above California.

TAKE OFF!

I absolutely love this shot. It's such a cool picture of the mirror on the wing reflecting the plane. The purpose of this mirror is to assist in viewing landing gear. We had a great flight. I have many, many more pictures of this flight, but these are just a few of my favorites.

I experimented putting these photos in a watercolor setting. I first painted 3 different water color patterns, and then in Photoshop I used blending modes to create this effect.

This was my first trip to England. It was a photographer's playland! I loved spending a day in the country side taking pictures of the beautiful scenery! I had fun putting and antique look on these after the fact. It really warms up the photos.
